Our founder, Choon Ng, created Rainbow Loom after watching his two daughters making rubber band bracelets by hand -- something he also enjoyed doing as a child in Malaysia. However, as an adult with large "man hands," Choon found it difficult to work with the tiny rubber bands. As a result, he created the original Rainbow Loom, which made it possible to create intricate designs using rubber bands!

Around 2010 to 2011, Choon invested his life savings of $10,000 into developing Rainbow Loom. To spread the word about this new craft, he would personally go into stores to pitch his product, but he was oftentimes rejected since intricate rubber band crafts were almost unheard of at the time. Determined to make this work, Choon and his family created a YouTube channel to educate others about the possibilities of rubber bands, and the popularity of Rainbow Loom slowly started to grow.
